Corinthians 1:27-30
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
That no flesh should glory in his presence.
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
-In this section of scripture the things of the world are weighed against the things of God. Notice that God’s only intentions for the things of the world are to confound them and bring them to naught. But if all that we are and all that we can be are destined to be made into nothing, what do we have left? Notice verse 30, Jesus Christ is made unto us certain peculiar traits with eternal merit. That means if we are to have any wisdom that is recognized by God, it must be the wisdom of Jesus, if we are to have any righteousness that is recognized by God, it must be the righteousness of Jesus, if we are to have any sanctification that is recognized by God, it must be the sanctification of Jesus, and if we are to have any redemption that is recognized by God, it must be the redemption of Jesus.
