Acts 14:16-17 – God always has a witness

Acts 14:16-17
16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

Isaiah 44:8
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

-God will always have a witness.  In times past this witness was the goodness that He gave in the form of rain and food, or the whole of creation that testifies of a Creator (Romans 1:20).  Now He has left us; specific witnesses to the very specific goodness of God in Christ Jesus. If you believe the Lord, be a witness for Him.  Don’t just speak of His existence or His goodness in general terms; the trees and the skies can do that.  It is our responsibility to articulate the goodness of God as it has been manifested in the form of “Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2).  When the Pharisees wanted Jesus’ followers to hold their peace, Jesus “answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. (Luke 19:40) Will you speak for God, or will a stone have to do the work you should be doing?
