Philippians 4:7-8 – Prayer and Peace

Philippians 4:7-8
7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

-There are many out there who have no peace in their lives and the reason is because they have no prayer in their lives.  We can’t hold onto the vain hope that circumstance will just magically start to go our way.  As Jesus said, “It is impossible but that offences will come” (Luke 17:1); we must learn to live with and work through the trials we are certain to face and that means taking your burdens to the Lord, confessing your faults and failings to the Lord- praying to the Lord.  1 John 5:14 tells us that “if we ask any thing according to [The Lord’s] will, He will heareth us.” Remember the power of prayer is not in the one who prays, but in the One who hears.
