18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
-What a Savior! Only Jesus could look on our pathetic lives from the portals of Heaven and say, “They are guilty, but they won’t be punished.” The Lord could afford such a guarantee based on His omnipotent power alone; but in order for Him to make that claim and still remain just and righteous, someone had to be punished for our guilt. And so it was that “once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Hebrews 9:26-28)
