4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
-One may claim circumcision, the seed of Abraham, the chosen people of God. Another may claim uncircumcision, grafted into the family of God in love and who having been called of God, has never fallen away or been sold into bondage. Paul succinctly reminds us here in his letter to the church at Galatia that all such claims are fruitless and negate the atoning work of Christ. For if man could be justified by anything other than the Blood, would Jesus have needed to die? But it was needful for Jesus to die; for whether you are a Jewish serpent or a Gentile dog, faith in the finished work of Calvary is the only claim worth making in the eyes of God.
