2 Corinthians 7:10 – Godly Sorrow

2 Corinthians 7:10
10
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

-Have you ever done something wrong or been in a bad circumstance where it compelled you to repent to the Lord or renew your walk with the Lord?  Conversely, have you ever done something wrong or been in a bad circumstance where it compelled you to feel sorry for yourself and/or take it out on those around you?  The difference between these two reactions illustrates the difference between Godly sorrow (conviction) and worldly sorrow.  One will lead us closer to God while the other drives us farther away.  It is said that our lives are not defined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens to us; that is never truer than it is in our spiritual lives.
