1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
-Nicodemus was right in recognizing Jesus as a Master Teacher, Miracle Worker, and a Man who walked with God; but he missed one big point that Jesus is quick to address, Jesus was God. The first words out of Jesus’ mouth were spoken directly to Nicodemus, but they apply to all mankind. Anyone can look at the historical Jesus and see a Great Teacher and a Great Man who worked Great Miracles, but Jesus was also the very substance of the Kingdom of God; “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” (Colossians 2:9) Just as Jesus told Nicodemus, you must be born again in order to really see that truth.
