5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
-The word “ashamed” in verse 5 carries with it the implication of regret, as in doing something and then later regretting it. There are many choices that we make which leave us ashamed, but Psalm 34 tells us of a choice that never leads to shame and remorse. Those who choose to follow the Lord come to find that they never regret having made that decision. The Lord’s path is straight and narrow and can be difficult to follow but it is always worth it.
