Psalm 40:3
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
-Praise unto our God is the new song that the Lord gives His children in salvation. That means there was an old song in our mouths before. That song could have been praise to the world, or the praise of money, or even praise unto ourselves. Notice what comes as a result of that new song- many people begin to fear and trust in the Lord. No one fears when they hear those old songs because they are commonplace. Every day we are surrounded by the influence of the world, the love of money, and pride. But when someone shows up singing praise unto the Lord, that gets people’s attention. Sure, there will by those who will scoff and ridicule, but don’t let that distract you from the promise of this scripture; your song of praise will point people to the Lord and give them a chance to get a new song of their very own.
