2 Corinthians 10:5
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
-Thoughts lead to actions. Actions influence habits. Habits become a lifestyle. That’s true for good thoughts and bad thoughts, good habits/bad habits, etc. The Bible warns us that Godly living begins by casting down those bad thoughts and imaginations. But how do we do that? Notice the middle section of the verse. Those wicked thoughts push “against the knowledge of God“, but that would also mean that the knowledge of God would push against wicked thoughts. To fulfill the command in 2 Corinthians, we must make sure that we are following the advice in Philippians 4. Fill your head and your heart with those “just and pure things” and you’ll scarcely have room left for wickedness.
