9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
-Out of all the Beatitudes, I’ve always found it interesting that the Peacemakers are called the Children of God. Typically a child can be identified by traits passed on from parents. Whether it be obvious things like physical traits are harder to see things like DNA, it is certain that the things which make up a parent will be the same things that make up a child. Peacemaking is such an integral part of the Father’s being that those who truly possess that trait can be identified as His children. After all, isn’t that what the plan of redemption is; God’s attempt to make peace with the rebellious human race? “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” (Colossians 1:20)
