6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
-In the Garden of Eden, God made a deal with mankind, life and peace as long as we didn’t eat of the forbidden fruit. Naturally, we ate the fruit and messed everything up. Any agreements that God makes with us will ultimately end is such ruin. Not because of anything that’s wrong with God, but because of everything that’s wrong with us. So God took the only path left available to Him, He made a covenant with Himself and the blood of His own Son became guarantee on that agreement. That’s why Paul speaks of it being a “better covenant”; because the weakness of man has been replaced by the strength of Christ. “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5:18)
