Ephesians 4:32
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
-What are you holding on to? What wrong have you experienced that leaves you with clenched teeth and bated breath whenever you think of it or the person who did it? You may play nice with a person and you may even have gritted out a word of forgiveness, but deep inside you just can’t let it go. This is not kindness as the Lord considers kindness and it’s not His forgiveness either. We are called to forgive one another even as God has forgiven us. That means completely and without hard feelings. It means accepting the person you forgave just as if they had never wronged you. It also means that you are not forgiving for the sake of the person who wronged you or even for your own sake; you are forgiving for Christ’s sake.
