27 Neither give place to the devil.
-Such a small verse to contain such a profound truth. If you are redeemed, “know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16) Accepting the truth that God has set up a habitation within believers, it is unimaginable that we would sully His home by setting aside room for the Devil. Yet many of us do exactly that. We keep God in the living room, but hide Satan in a spare bedroom, or worse, we put Satan in the living room and hide God in the basement. In reality, it can’t work that way. God will not hang around with the Devil, so what may start as just a little place for the Devil ends up being a whole temple of wickedness. “For what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? Ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” (2 Corinthians 6:14, 16-17)
