Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 is a very encouraging verse of scripture and one that is often relied upon when a situation looks grim. It seems, however, that we tend to get too focused on the wrong part of the verse. While it’s important to be reminded that God will make sure things turn out well, it is more needful to realize for whom He makes those things turn out well. Those who love Him and are “called according to His purpose.” Our first duty in any situation is not to look for the light at the end of the tunnel; rather, it is to make certain that we are in the center of God’s perfect will.
