About

I’m just a sinner saved by God’s grace.  I am a Sunday School teacher in my local church.  I made a decision in December of 2012 to skip a Christian men’s retreat and that one choice started me down a path of backsliding that eventually led me to make the choice to leave my church.  Over the next few months, I bounced around some other churches in an attempt to follow what I thought was the Lord’s will.  Through that time, I no longer had a Sunday School class to teach and I felt what Jeremiah the prophet spoke of in Jeremiah 20:9, “His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.”  The wisdom of God’s word was too strong for me to keep shut in and that led me to write my first devotional on June 3, 2013.  Over the next several weeks, I repented of my bad decisions and came back to the Lord, that choice also leading me back to my church.  I continued writing and sending out the devotionals as ongoing evidence that God is still able to work even when we walk contrary to Him and on the advice of a dear friend and brother in Christ, I started putting the devotionals on this blog.  If you learn anything worthwhile on these pages, it is the Lord who is doing the teaching.
